Free Website Modernization Audit

Is your website outdated?
Find out in 20 seconds.

Enter your URL. We detect your current stack, measure speed and AI-readiness, count your security exposure, and return a Modernization Score out of 100 with exactly what a modern rebuild would fix. No signup.

How to tell if your website is outdated

A website is outdated if it scores below 70 on mobile PageSpeed, relies on more than roughly 10 plugins, doesn't appear in AI-generated search answers, or hasn't been fundamentally rebuilt in four or more years. This tool checks all of those and weighs them into a single Modernization Score.

Stack detection

We identify whether you're on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Shopify, or a modern framework, and count your WordPress plugins. Runtime-rendered legacy stacks start at a disadvantage no optimization plugin can fix.

Speed (PageSpeed)

We pull your mobile Lighthouse performance score. Below 70 means you're losing conversions on every visit. Modern static-first sites score 95+ by default, not by tuning.

AI-readiness

We check whether AI search can cleanly read and cite you: content in the initial HTML, FAQ schema, llms.txt, and AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt. If they can't read you, they cite your competitor.

Security surface

Every plugin is an attack vector. 97% of WordPress hacks come from plugins and themes, not core. A static site has zero plugin surface and nothing server-side to exploit.

SEO foundation

Title, meta description, mobile viewport, schema, and a single clean H1. The technical baseline Google and AI engines both expect.

What the fix actually looks like

If your score is below 70, your site doesn't need another redesign on the same old stack. It needs a modern rebuild: a headless CMS for content, a static-first frontend on Astro or Next.js for rendering, and zero plugins. We've shipped 5,000+ sites this way and taken Lighthouse scores from 35 to 94. See pricing or reach out for a full audit.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my website is outdated?
A website is outdated if it scores below 70 on mobile PageSpeed, runs more than ~10 plugins, isn't cited by AI search, or hasn't been rebuilt in 4+ years. This tool checks all of those in about 20 seconds and returns a Modernization Score out of 100.
What is a Modernization Score?
A weighted composite of five categories: Speed (30%), AI-readiness (25%), Stack modernity (20%), Security surface (15%), and SEO foundation (10%). Above 80 is modern; 50-80 has meaningful gaps; below 50 is rebuild territory.
Why does my plugin count matter?
On WordPress, every plugin is a dependency, an attack vector, and JavaScript loaded on every page. A 2025 Patchstack report found 97% of WordPress vulnerabilities came from plugins and themes, not core. A modern static-first site runs zero plugins.
What would a modern rebuild score?
A modern static-first rebuild on Astro or Next.js with a headless CMS typically scores ~96: 95+ PageSpeed, clean semantic HTML for AI citation, zero plugin attack surface, and schema built in. We can usually get there in about 6 weeks.
